ATC is partnering with Hotel San Carlos to put on a 1920s-themed 'soiree' starting at 6 p.m. So feel free to don your best rendition of a flapper or prohibition-era gangster costume and hit the town.
The party is inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, The Great Gatsby, which the ATC happens to be performing March 22 to April 8 at the Herberger Theater Center.
"We selected the Hotel San Carlos because the age and location of the property made it a relevant and intriguing partner for The Great Gatsby," says Gary Edwards, a PR and marketing associate with the ATC.
Hotel San Carlos' Ghost Lounge hosts a First Friday event each month, which prompted Edwards to propose a partnership.
"The framework of their existing event was a perfect backdrop for ATC to add theatrical flourishes giving it that Gatsby-Era style and flavor" Edwards says. "They have live music to which we are fusing jazz. They also have live artists painting in the Ghost Lounge to which we are adding models in 1920s vintage and inspired clothing."
Ghost Lounge bartenders will be serving 1920's inspired drink specials and DJ Shade will provide the music.
There will also be several models dressed in 1920s clothing from vintage clothing stores including Antique Sugar Vintage Clothing, Butter Toast Boutique, and The Bee's Knees.
