If you have a taste for extreme adventure and think you and a friend/family member/spouse/significant other/ex (really) could survive the wild, Bear Grylls is looking for you.

The adventure expert and television personality known best for the Man vs. Wild series is kicking off a new reality series on NBC in which teams of two will be dropped in a remote wilderness location and must make it "to the end" to win.

Part Amazing Race, part Hunger Games (save fighting 'til the death), Bear Grylls' "Get Out Alive" (a working title) will air Summer 2013 and is bound to feature plenty of survival "skill-building" activities.

"Get Out Alive" will be raw, tough and unrelenting, but it will also inspire and teach the essentials that one day may just save your life," Grylls writes in the casting call announcement. "The goal is to empower people with the ultimate in both survival and teamwork, and that brings incredible reward... but first there must be some pain."

Grylls' team will be in Phoenix on January 12 at Superstition Springs Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. According to the show's casting producer, Matt Nakamura, the crew is looking for "confident and competitive duos: married, siblings, parent/child (18+), best friends, engaged couples, dating, or exes. Whether you're an outdoor expert or have never been camping--test your relationship with this experience of a lifetime!"

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by February 1, 2013 and must be a legal U.S. resident and have a valid U.S. passport if selected for the show. Superstition Springs Center is at 6555 E. Southern Ave. in Mesa.
