On Friday, May 12, Phoenix beauty junkies will have a new place to get their makeup and skincare fix: Bluemercury. The nationwide beauty store and spa chain will open its second Valley location at The Shops at Town & Country located at 20th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix.

Bluemercury already has a store location at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale. This new location was selected for its convenience, Bluemercury co-founder and chief operating officer Barry Beck says.

"I spent a lot of time studying the customer information of our Kierland clients, and have found that almost all of them come from less than a 15-minute drive and are clustered around the store, very similar to the behavior of our New York customers," Beck says. "Opening a second store at Town & Country to serve the urban superwoman and the suburban power mom of Phoenix, where they run their errands, get their coffee, grab lunch, and go grocery shopping, was a natural for Bluemercury."

The beauty retailer offers more than 90 upscale makeup, skincare, and beauty brands including La Mer, Skinceuticals, Natura Bisse, Kiehl’s, NARS, Oribe, and Molton Brown, as well as proprietary brands M-61 and Lune+Aster.

And like many of Bluemercury's 130 locations, its 2,200 square-foot Phoenix footprint will include a spa that will offer facials, massages, waxing, and other services.

Store associates and staff estheticians will also be generous with their know-how, Bluemercury co-founder and chief executive officer Marla Beck says.

"I’ve always said, I don’t know what products we’ll be carrying 10 to 15 years from now, but we’ll always be the best at giving beauty advice," she says.

Owned by Macy's Inc., Bluemercury is slated to open 40 stores in 2017. Founded in 1999 by the Becks, a husband-and-wife team, the aim of Bluemercury is to bridge the gap between pharmacies and department stores.

“We created a revolutionary retail concept – a store steps from your home, with friendly beauty experts that know everything about products and can advise clients on the right solutions to your beauty and skincare problems," Marla says. "We also wanted a one-stop shop for all things beauty. We have always offered experiential services – makeup services, brow stylings, waxing, and facials, so all of our clients’ beauty needs could be met in one place."

The new store will open on May 12 at 10 a.m. at The Shops at Town & Country at 2021 East Camelback Road.

At a grand opening celebration (whose details have yet to be announced), the retailer will offer complimentary makeovers, mini-facials and treatments, and deluxe sample bags for the first 100 attendees.
