Looking for something to do this weekend? "Night Owl" is a quick guide to special nights at bars and clubs around town. We'll give you a few hints re: cover, dress code, music and atmosphere. Every Thursday marks Cabo Thursday at Dos Gringos.

Anything goes at Dos Gringos. The music of DJ Switch is a grab bag, and the bar's layout is a constantly evolving feng shui of chairs, tables, and patio game pieces. The Cabo Thursday specials might be the cheapest you'll find in Scottsdale, if only it weren't for that pesky cover charge.

The Place: 4209 N. Craftsman Court, Scottsdale, AZ 85251

The Time: 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Cover: An unadvertised $10 for guys and $5 for ladies.

The Parking: Street.

The Bar: The cover unleashes Dos Gringos' multiple bar tops and their Cabo Thursday special of $.50 Coronas and well drinks. The bar also offers free birthday shots.

The Music: DJ Switch lives up to his name with his collection of country, pop, hip hop, and indie rock. Regardless of the unpredictable playlist, people hit the impromptu dance floor.

The Style: A cool and casual college crowd who dressed accordingly.

The People: Younger groups of people with a few seemingly misplaced middle-agers.

What we loved: Switching it up with such cheap deals in the middle of Old Town Scottsdale.

What we didn't love: The unadvertised cover. And the way the haphazard arrangement of chairs, tables and patio games perfectly complimented the dirt and dust on top of them.

Are we going back? A double dose of gringos? No way Jose.
