If there are two things Silvana Salcido Esparza can promise for tonight, they're kickass cocktails and badass art.
Since early September, Esparza's been gathering artists, donations and wall space along 16th Street in Phoenix (where her restaurant, Barrio Cafe, is located).
Tonight, she's all about selling ... and celebrating a community concept. She says Calle 16 Mural Project (which we blogged about in September and gave an award for Best Calle of Dreams) is the first step in realizing a street long protest against the tarnished image of Phoenix in the aftermath of SB1070. Esparza hopes the efforts grow into a stronger community of Mexican art, food and culture.
