The first event in the second cycle of Scottsdale Public Art's Canal Convergence series will be taking over the Scottsdale Waterfront this weekend between Soleri Bridge and Goldwater Boulevard.
Canal Convergence | Water + Art + Light is a four-day event that celebrates the canal through a series of installations, activities, and performances.

The event has an impressive number of installation pieces slated to line the canal inside and out. Participating artists include Aether & Hemera, Tomiko Jones, Joy Holland, Ryan Griffith, , Gabriel Pecina, Andy Brown, Ashley Macias, and SMoCA's "Art in Motion."
In addition to the visual art, there will be live music, food trucks, and an artisan market. Each day has a slightly different agenda, so you will want to check out the event schedule.
We're particularly excited about Saturday's Community Canal Path bike ride, which includes a participatory poetry project and a tour of the public art pieces along the canal. On Saturday night, a group of dancers headed by local choreographer Liliana Gomez will perform a piece at twilight in collaboration with visual artist Ashley Macias, which is also a must-see.
