Alwun House, at 1204 E. Roosevelt St., will host an "introductory" to
steampunk art and culture with work by Steve Gompf, Rand Lyons and
Edward Schenk at 7 p.m. For more

- Tumbleweed Bower @ The Icehouse
Mayme Kratz and her "Team Tumbleweed" have been busy installing her interactive piece -- a 15-foot tumbleweed cube -- in the Icehouse main entrance room.Read more about her project here.
An opening reception will be at The Icehouse, at 429 W. Jackson St., from 6 to 11 p.m., and Kratz will host a lecture at 7 p.m. Saturday. See the event's invite for more reception information.
Off the Map:
- New World Border @ The Hive No. 6 (The Bee's Knees)
The Hive, 2222 N. 16th St., will host a traveling exhibit of US artists' work in response to the US/Mexico border wall. Pieces from more than 30 artists will be on display from 6 to 9 p.m. for more information, see the New World Border website.
- Curiouser and Curiouser @ The AZ Science Center
The interactive public artwork of local artists Mary Lucking and David Tinapple will be dedicated to the Arizona Science Center, 600 E. Washington St., at 4 p.m.. Curiouser and Curiouser, is a large, interactive telescope and microscope that allows guests to see each other on very small and large scales. Very Alice in Wonderland, indeed. - If you missed it, our seventh jackalope limited edition sticker, designed by Cindy Dach, will be making its debut tonight! (Find a few at each location marked with a star on the map.)
- To embrace the shenanigans, check out the live music and art at Revolver Records on Roosevelt Street, at Bliss ReBar, at Bikini Lounge on Grand Avenue and all over Heritage Square.
- To avoid the shenanigans (and a sunburn), go early, walk around, and take home a piece of art before the bongos and snow cones arrive.
-- The Phoenix Art Museum has great parking (and great art, go figure). On-street parking is limited along Roosevelt Street between First and Seventh streets (Note: meters downtown are still checked
until 8 p.m.). Or if you can nab a spot, check out the free street
parking on Grand Avenue ...
