There's no denying that singles mixers have their varying degrees of awkward, but this week, Fascinations and Phoenix Mingles are shooting for the moon with Phoenix's first-ever Pheromone Party. On Friday from 6-9pm at Red Revolver Lounge, guests will get a chance to see if love is in the air, or rather in a sealed Ziploc bag.

The rules for both male and female participants are as follows: Guests must sleep in a clean t-shirt for 3 consecutive nights. They must forgo any and all artificial scents such as sprays, lotions, etc. They must also avoid binge drinking and/or smoking in said shirts because come on, no one wants to O.D. on your B.O.
After each of the three nights, participants should seal the shirt in a plastic bag and place it in the freezer. On the night of the event, guests will bring their Ziploc sealed shirts to be color coded and numbered.
Everyone will then get a chance to sniff their fair share of bagged odors, ultimately posing for a photo op with the smell they find most alluring. Photos are then projected to the audience so that the proud owners of the displayed bags can meet their match.
Yeah it all sounds a little ridiculous, but name one aspect of dating that isn't. Plus the trend has already taken off in more metropolitan cities such as Los Angeles and New York. And while the whole event may not lead you to the love of your life, it does promise to deliver a solid ice breaker and some good laughs.
Tickets are $35 and include one raffle ticket (yes there will be prizes), one drink, and a helping of appetizers. In addition to the party's funk-based flirting, there will also be presentations by Dr. Shannon Chavez from SHE Sexual Health Experts and Fascination's Love Expert, Megan Krein.
