Monster Mash Up in 3-D @ AMC Mesa Grand 24 Halloween's a-brewing, and we're already ready to binge on candy and dress up. Thankfully, we can get into the spooky spirit a little early with a double feature of Tim Burton flicks Frankenweenie (think Frankenstein-meets-puppies and in black-and-white stop-motion) and The Nightmare Before Christmas (of which, in all unashamed honesty, we own a deluxe, box-set version that we watch on both Halloween and Christmas) in 3-D on Thursday, October 4.

Cult Classics screens the ghost-with-the-most flick, complete with posters, DVD, Blu-ray, and toy raffles, at Pollack Tempe Cinemas on Friday, October 5, at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $11 to $30.The Queen of Versailles @ FilmBar Here's how it starts: Über-rich couple David, a and Jackie Siegel embark on the construction of the largest home in America (a 90,000 square-foot mansion modeled after the Paris hotel in Vegas -- really, how nouveau riche can ya get?) at the beginning of Lauren Greenfield's The Queen of Versailles. Soon, construction is halted due to a nosediving economy. What ensues is an all-American tale of a big family with even bigger money problems.
