Hamilton, the Broadway show everyone and your mom is dying to see, is coming to Tempe.

ASU Gammage Auditorium and producer Jeffrey Seller announced on Sunday, February 14, that Lin-Manuel Miranda's perennially sold-out musical will come to the Tempe theater as part of its 2017-18 season.

The critically lauded show tells the story of founding father Alexander Hamilton through songs that blend genres including hip-hop, blues, and jazz, and with black and Hispanic actors portraying Hamilton, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson, among other roles.

Hamilton is a transcendent piece of musical theatre that redefines the genre and we are ecstatic for this innovative and ground-breaking work to come to ASU!” says Gammage executive director Colleen Jennings-Roggensack in the Gammage announcement.

Miranda wrote the music, book, and lyrics, drawing inspiration from Ron Chernow's 2004 biography Alexander Hamilton. He has starred as the title character in both the Off-Brodway and Broadway productions.

Ticket details and official run dates will be announced at a later date. But in the meantime, you have a couple-ish years to memorize every single word on the musical's Grammy-nominated soundtrack.
