Jasmine Jarrett's been collecting and selling vintage wears since 2006, but her love for fashion wasn't always something that showed.

"When I was going through school, I was very much into sports and being low-maintenance," she says. "But I always had an opinion about fashion and what I liked and what I didn't."

Today, Jarrett owns Butter Toast Boutique, which grew out of collaboration with Traci Nelson, who used to model for her. They settled into a spot in the Roosevelt Row Arts District as their operation gained attention and a customer base.

"We focus on buying clothes that are wearable," says Jarrett. "We want people to buy the clothing and wear it. Not just have it sit in their closet."

Along with co-owner Nelson, Jarrett also runs Toast, a fun store-based blog in which they share photos of their latest finds and funny viral videos.

Earrings are my favorite jewelry at the moment. But I'm always wearing necklaces with pretty much every outfit.

What item of clothing do you most covet at the moment?
I want to find a really great pair of lace-up boots for this winter. Something with a wedge or a heel. They're really comfortable for the most part, more than heels, and they can go with anything right now.

Where would you love to have a shopping spree?
I really like a bargain, so it would have to be H&M or Topshop, something like that. I have a low price point so it's more for my money.

What are some of your style icons?
I have many. Chloe Sevigny is one of my favorites. She's been thrifting and wearing vintage since the '90s.

Give us a childhood memory of you and clothing:
When my parents asked me what I would do with a million dollars, I said I would shop till I dropped. I was six years old.

Name five things every woman should have in their closet:
1. A good pair of jeans
2. A well-fitted blazer
3. A pair of boots
4. A good pair of sunglasses
5. A cocktail dress

What is your one piece of fashion advice for Phoenix:
Take off the flip-flops. Get rid of the flip-flops, PLEASE.
