Kelley Roach is motivated by creativity. Following her interior-decorating dreams, the 25-year-old spends the nine-to-five shift at Jaime Herzlinger Interiors in Arcadia, a safe haven where she can use her talent for domestic touch.
When Roach isn't transforming homes, you can catch her (and her trendy threads) at shops and venues around the Valley. Roach says fashion influences her mood and that she finds confidence in her own duds. She defines her attitude toward style as one of confidence and reinforces the everlasting concept that says you only look as good as you feel.
What are you wearing right now? I am currently wearing a long fur vest, loose-fitting white shirt and motorcycle leggings with flat black ankle boots.

What is the last item of clothing that you purchased? Last night after too much wine, I purchased a basic black T-back tank from nastygal.com, which is my favorite website ever. A girl can never have enough black.
What sort of fashion do you create? I create fashion that is comfortable and hopefully timeless. Nothing is worse than looking back at old pictures and hating what you wore! Like in the sixth grade when I thought my giraffe pants were the coolest thing ever. They were not.
What's the last thing you designed? Since I work in the Interior Design world, I am constantly surrounded by beautiful tiles, fabrics, furnishing, and more. So my home is ever-evolving. I recently redesigned my "gallery" hallway
Can you tell us a little about your own style? My style is all about comfort. I never wear anything that is restricting or that I can't do at cartwheel in. I also wear a ton of basics, like black, white and gray. You can never go wrong with the simple basics. I love dressing up a basic shirt with an oversize hat or vest.
What's your favorite item of clothing in your closet? My favorite item in my closet is a dress from the '70s that I purchased from Antique Sugar, a vintage shop downtown. It's totally Little House on the Prairie and unlike anything I own.
Name a fashion trend you can't stand. Pointy fingernails. I mean, come on, how are you supposed to pick your nose? Also, anything neon.
What do you like to accessorize with? I love dressing up my basic look with hats and long necklaces I can layer with. And my favorite oversize gold watch (everyone should have one).
Give us a childhood memory of you and your clothes. When I was about 8, my sister had a Spanish-inspired long black floral skirt. When she grew out of it, I finally got to wear it! I was so excited to wear something I could twirl in. One day, my family went to the casino for breakfast. As I was leaving the restroom, a Spanish woman said something me, but I didn't understand so just smiled and kept walking. Then I catch my brother laughing and my mom running up to me, laughing as well, as she pulled down on my skirt. I tucked the back of my skirt into my underwear! I learned a valuable lesson that day -- always check your butt before your leave a restroom.
Name five items every woman should have in their closet.
1. Loose-fitting white T-shirt 2. Skinny jeans 3. A quality pair of flat boots, nothing looks worse than cheap faux leather 4. A casual dress that can be dressed up or down 5. A killer leather jacket.
What's your piece of fashion advice for Phoenix? Have fun! Never think you can't "pull something off," because you can. You just have to do it, and rock it with a smile.
