Be a part of the world's first global film festival when the Manhattan Short Film Festival screens its 10 finalists at the Phoenix Art Museum on Wednesday, October 1. With screenings taking place in 47 countries over the span of 10 days, the MSFF is massive. However, the real reason you should go is because the festival is also known for getting the best of the best short films from around the world and you get to help decide who's the winner.

With past festival winners, who are chosen by audience vote, going on to win Academy Awards for their work, there's no doubt that this year's event will have some talent. Whittling down from nearly 600 submissions to just 10 was no easy task, we're sure, but here's a list of the 2014 finalist films that will be screening at the event:

  • 97% (Netherlands)
  • Crime (USA)
  • On the Bridge (UK)
  • Shift (Australia)
  • The Fall (Norway)
  • On/Off (France)
  • La Carnada (Mexico)
  • Mend and Make Do (UK)
  • The Bravest, The Boldest (USA)
  • Rhino Full Throttle (Germany)

The Manhattan Short Film Festival screens in Phoenix on Wednesday, October 1, at 7 p.m. For tickets, which are $12 for general admission and $9 for museum members, and more information about the event at the Phoenix Art Museum, visit www.phxart.org.
