While the project is messy, it's really fun. And easy -- if you stick to small objects.
I have to admit I was a little nervous about trying this project after the doily lamp disaster, but the Stiffy worked great ... on these small balloons.
What you do is dip the yarn or thread into a bowl with the glue, make sure it is thoroughly soaked, then wrap it around the object you're going to use as a mold.
There are many tutorials for this out there, but I used craftyendeavors. I'm glad I did because she reminded me to uncoil the string before putting it into the glue to avoid it getting tangled.
There were still some knots, but nothing I couldn't untangle.
Once you master the technique, you're going to want to stiffen everything.
Without looking on Pinterest, I had the idea of making a lamp! The next day I saw this and this.
So I decided to try it.
It turns out this method doesn't easily transfer over to large-scale objects. Like a fool, I failed to actually read the tutorials in the above lamp links.
Obviously I was overconfident and didn't think I needed to...

This is lamp fail #2, and I don't like it. The worst part is that I used up all my Stiffy.
