If there's one thing we love more than a shiny, pretty thing, it's a shiny, pretty party.
To celebrate its new location and its new art exhibition, local jewelry-maker Mother of Gideon (MoG) is throwing an official grand opening party and reception starting a 7 p.m. this Friday, October 10, inside UNION at the Biltmore.
The exhibition, entitled "Welcome to Mother of Gideon," debuting just across from the store at Palabra Pop-Up Gallery, will feature the sculptural works of MoG founders Charis Elliott and Seth Gideon Fainkujen.

Throughout the evening, DJ Defense Mekanizm, a.k.a. Suzy Homewrecker, will be spinning tunes as Mother of Gideon encourages guests to shop and salivate over handcrafted rings, pendants, and crowns with 15 percent of all purchases in the store.
Other UNION shops will also get in on the action, including Frame Ewe with 50 percent discounts on select frames, White House Flowers with free giveaways, Queen Creek Olive Mill with complimentary wine tastings at 8 p.m., as well as Juiced and Forge with free food and drink samples.
Free art, free food, and fine jewelry that's, well, not exactly free but temporarily reduced in price? Sounds like the perfect occasion to treat yourself.
