And by "party" we obviously mean team up with one of the world's most prestigious auction houses to sell high-priced prints from one of the most coveted archives in photojournalism.
Because isn't that how every century-plus-year-old publication celebrates its anniversary?

The National Geographic Society has teamed up with high-end auction house Christie's to put a select 125 prints on the virtual auction block. The online-only sale, titled "Boundless: 125 Years of National Geographic Photography," started July 19 and continues through July 28 offering rare and exclusive prints from the expansive National Geographic photo archives.
Special auction items include prints from Thomas Abercrombie's original Kodachrome negatives as well as noteworthy photographs from Annie Griffiths, Joel Sartore, and Michael S. Yamashita. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will go toward maintaining the National Geographic archive itself.
Current bids for the items rest between $400 and $3,000, making this one of the few auctions you might realistically stand a chance in at Christie's. Visit Christie's online showroom to view the up-for-grab photos.
