Michael Rooker, Dave Bautista, and Sean Gunn Are Coming to Phoenix Comicon 2018

There’s no rest for the weary.

Mere days after wrapping up this year’s Fan Fest, the hype has started for Phoenix Comicon 2018. And its first special guests have been announced.

The names should be familiar to geeks and fans of Marvel movies.

Comicon organizers announced on Tuesday, November 14, that Guardians of the Galaxy actors Michael Rooker, Dave Bautista, and Sean Gunn will appear at Phoenix Comicon 2018 in May.
For those unfamiliar with the GOTG series, Rooker plays Yondu, the blue-skinned space pirate and Ravager, while Gunn portrays his first mate Kraglin. Bautista, of course, plays Drax the Destroyer, one of the Guardians alongside Star Lord, Gamora, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon.

All three guests will participate in Q&A panels, photo ops, and autograph sessions during Phoenix Comicon 2018, which will run from Thursday, May 24, to Sunday, May 27, at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Bautista, a former pro wrestler who’s become an actor in recent years, will make his first-ever appearance at Phoenix Comicon. Ditto for Gunn, a character actor who has also appeared in cult films and such shows as Gilmore Girls.

Rooker, who’s known for his role as Merle on The Walking Dead and films like Mallrats and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, has made a few memorable visits to Comicon over the years, most recently in 2014.

Tickets for Phoenix Comicon 2018 go on sale on Friday, December 15. More info can be found on the Comicon website.
