The Phoenix Festival of the Arts will return for an encore after a successful first run that drew 10,000 visitors in December of 2012.

With a mission to "unify the arts," the three-day festival, put on by the Phoenix Center for the Arts, will expand to include even more events and entertainment this year. Visitors can expect dozens of arts vendors, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, a children's play area, and 2 stages with rotating performances.

Again visitors will have the opportunity to contribute to a community mural (you can check out last year's at Steele Indian School Park). But the festival includes a couple of cool new features too: Mayor Greg Stanton will hand out Arts Awards to recognize artists and arts organization in the Valley, and the Phoenix Center for the Arts is releasing a free Phoenix Arts Guidebook.

Locals arts vendors, performing arts groups, and other arts organizations are invited to participate in the event. Applications must be submitted by October 1 and can be found here.

The festival will take place on December 13, 14, and 15, at Margaret T. Hance Park, and admission is free. For more information, visit phoenixfestivalofthearts.org.
