Welcome to the Morning Buzz, a catch-up on interesting happenings around the city and country and a quick guide to what (and who) to keep your eyes on. We'll be here, first thing every weekday, to get you going. Here's what's buzzing this morning:

Thanks to Cary Huang, we can all zoom out a little.

The developer and her twin, Michael, released The Scale of the Universe, an online, interactive flash program that allows you to zoom in to 10^-35 and out to 10^27 -- from the smallest "known" objects in the universe to the largest.

While the illustrations are rudimentary, the sliding scale of the known universe is full of eye (and brain) candy; each "known" object is clickable and provides information about the object's scale, origin, and discovery.

Prepare to feel tiny, and check out the scale on Huangs' website.
