One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local, international, in action and on the drawing board. Here's today's -- what's yours?
Alexandre Farto goes by Vhils. The London-based Portuguese artist is known for his large-scale wall art, but especially for his style, which includes chiseling the exteriors of buildings to create forms with the layers (admittedly an age-old technique, blended with street art).
You can see more of his work here and a few local examples of the style, including the chiseled face on the mural by Gennaro Garcia and DOSE on Sixteenth Street.
