TED is kind of like NPRs Fresh Air on crack. Founded in 1984, the conference brings together speakers from three different worlds technology, entertainment and design (hence TED) with the hopes of stimulating global and local discussions. All thats missing is Terry Gross.
TEDx is the local, independently organized version. The event hits Chandler this Thursday featuring speakers with a passion to disrupt traditional ways of thinking. Speakers include author and M.D. Michelle May, Coffee Plantation founder Joe Johnston, education entrepreneur and enthusiast Snehal Patel, and founder of Ear Candy Nate Anderson. Attendees enjoy a three-hour schedule including short breaks between speakers and a buffet.
