Phoenix native and past winner of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance Lauren Froderman will perform a guest solo at Scorpius Dance Theater's Kick-A Dance Showcase.

Froderman's sexy, high-energy and contemporary dance style will be a perfect fit for the collection of kick-ass dance. Her impressive flexibility, both physically and as a performer, helped her win the hit TV show's top prize in 2010. Since then she's performed in the So You Think You Can Dance tour and worked as the first dance athlete for Gatorade and its G Series Fit line.

In the past Froderman has also danced for the Radio City Rockette's, Big Time Rush, Blake McGrath, and has appeared in television performances, music videos, and live shows. She has been dancing since she was 3 and graduated from the Bender Performing Arts School in Phoenix.

And she'll be performing a guest solo in the Kick A showcase performances on Saturday, June 15, at 7 and 9 p.m. only. The showcase will feature up-and-coming work from Arizona choreographers and dancers as well as several works from Scorpius Dance Theater director Lisa Starry. Though the show isn't a themed production, each work promises to be an example of highly-entertaining contemporary and modern dance.

Kick-A opens on June 13 and will run through Saturday, June 15 for a total of five performances at the Phoenix Theater Little Theater. Tickets will be available through the Phoenix Theater and cost $25 a person. To purchase call 602-254-2151. Seating is limited.
