One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local, international, in action, and on the drawing board. Here's today's -- what's yours?

Robin Landa's Take a Line for a Walk is a creativity journal, or space to work out your latest block, take a break from routine, or find inspiration.

The small book is packed with prompts and advice from well-known creatives. Our favorite comes from New York-based designer and typographer, Stefan Sagmeister.

Steal a technique from someone you admire. I did -- from director Steven Soderbergh. When his writing does not get anywhere, he goes to the busiest café in L.a., without anybody to meet and nothing to read. Just bringing pencil and paper. Being all alone in the bustling café, Soderberge looks stupid and shames himself into writing. Works brilliantly for design, too. - Stefan Sagmeister

Take a Line for a Walk also includes challenges and ideas from psychologist Suzanne Bousquet, Chicago-based designer Rick Valicenti and a handful of architects, scientists, writers, painters, and more. You can pick up a copy online.
