One new idea for every day in 2011. We're talking big, small, local,
international, in action and on the drawing board. Here's today's --
what's yours?
A group of designers and photographers in Austin, Texas strongly believes that someday you will find yourself in a Texas Honky Tonk, and you will be surrounded by local folks using words and phrases that you probably won't understand.
Example: "That idiot drove through the yard! He hit the mailbox and now it sits all Catty Whumpus."
Time to study up.
The Texas Alphabet Flash Card deck, by creative studio PUBLIC SCHOOL, includes a set of 3-by-9-inch cards with each of the 26 letters (and one extra "F" for "Feeder," an east Texas word
for access road) and a "Texan Sayings intro to our euphemisms" card.
Now, you just better hope they pony you up to the Texas Speak so you're not what they call an Arizona cowboy: all hat and no cattle.
