For more than 80 years, the Arizona Biltmore has been one of Arizona's most popular historic landmarks.

And with its Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired design (the actual architect of record is Albert Chase McArthur), its long list of old-school celebrity guests, and prime Central Phoenix location, the Great Gatsby-esque hotel attracts staycationers and out-of-towners alike.

Almost as historic as the hotel itself is its cocktail menu, featuring the Biltmore Original Tequila Sunrise.

The story, which can be found in detail at the the resort's Wright bar, describes longtime employee Gene Sulit, who worked at the Biltmore in various roles beginning in the 30s or 40s. Supposedly during his time as a bartender, Sulit coined the drink, Tequila Sunrise, after one of his regular patrons requested a cocktail that would combine his love of Tequila with his preference for sipping drinks poolside.

By simply adding equal parts lime, Crème de Cassis, and club soda to premium tequila, this drink is easy to make and, more importantly, easy to drink. Maybe it's true what they say about the classics.

Ingredients: 1 1/4 oz. Premium / Pure Agave Tequila 3/4 oz. Crème de Cassis Fresh squeezed lime juice Top with club soda

Method: Combine above ingredients over cracked ice. Top with Soda. Garnish with lime wedge.
