Although the final frames of film have unfurled at The Royale in Mesa, you have one last opportunity to pay a visit the Mesa movie theater before it exits the scene for good.

The independent grindhouse cinema run by film buff Andrea Beesley-Brown, which announced its impending closure last week, will offer a special "Goodbye Open House" to its friends and fans tonight from 5 to 10 p.m.

According to The Royale's twitter, the event is aimed at "anyone who wants to say their last goodbyes to the theater space." The remaining copies of the theater's custom movie posters, which were created by Victor Moreno and other local artists for special screenings of cult flicks like Army of Darkness and Robocop, will be sold off along with every remaining piece of merchandise.

In other news, Beesley-Brown announced that annual and quarterly memberships that were sold by the Royale, which provided free admission to regular screenings and discounted tickets to special engagements, will be honored by FilmBar in downtown Phoenix.
