Looking for ways to fill up your weekend? Here are your five best bets for getting out and about in the Valley of the Sun.
Lit Lounge: Black Friday @ SMoCA Lounge We're fond of the reality-check encouragement that is the command, "Get real." Too often we're bogged down with total malarkey, B.S.-ers B.S.-ing, and Grade-A phoney baloneys. For a dose of realness, we like a good story -- nothing too sad, or happy, or funny, or mean. Just honest. Real talk rules at SMoCA Lounge's monthly Lit Lounge. This month's speakers include comedian Kira Hesser, playwright Kim Porter, writer Libbie Miller. Alli Shepler will perform live music.

Performance in the Borderlands: BLU @ Phoenix Center for the Arts A pair of Chicano families search for serenity in this performance piece of dance, ceremony, and DJ work. See it at 7 p.m. on Friday at Phoenix Center for the Arts. General admission is $11.
Rivalry Week Block Party @ American Junkie Seems like while everyone's atwitter with Abraham Lincoln and his team of rivals, unfriendly rivalry still reigns supreme when it comes to college football. Revel in your rivalry of choice with a free block party at American Junkie on Saturday. Gates open at 7 a.m.
The Seventh Seal @ FilmBar Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal already has the Criterion stamp of approval. This weekend, it gets the additional honor of being the third installment in FilmBar's November-December classic film series. Get an eyeful of Swedish cinema in all its void-staring glory at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $7.
Black Sunday @ Scottsdale Street Fair The weekly, open-air marketplace turns into a post-Turkey Day bazaar with discounts on artsy items, jewelry, and other gifts. Shop from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Scottsdale Pavilions. Admission is free.
