Red Eagle Tortilla Factory

Katie Walter
Way out in the West Valley, Red Eagle Tortilla Factory isn’t much to look at. But don’t pass this Surprise gem by. The shelves might be a little dusty under the dim lights, but this family business has been crafting and selling some of the best corn and flour tortillas in the state since 1954. You’ve probably seen packages of the company’s products in grocery stores – they’re the incredibly delicious variety stamped with a red eagle. But if you make the trek to the factory’s store, you can get a great deal on still-warm packages of tortillas in a variety of sizes, about half-price compared to what you’d pay elsewhere. One thing to note is that these are preservative-free, so while they don’t have the rubbery texture of some big brand names, they also don’t have the long shelf life. Keep them in the fridge and eat them fast, not a hard task once you have a taste.
