The Yacht Club

The Yacht Club, a seafood concept from local chef and restaurateur Aaron May, is a laidback seafood restaurant in the Arcadia neighborhood. The nautical-themed dining room, complete with whitewashed wooden floors, porthole windows and wooden oars on the walls, is distinctly chic, if a bit heavy-handed. But the real problem lies in the restaurant’s unfocused menu and clumsy execution. Linguine and clams suffer from a bland garlic and herb butter sauce. Fish and chips, meanwhile, feature a lackluster batter and under-seasoned steak fries. A high point is the Cajun chicken and shrimp jambalaya, a spicy, smoky surf-and-turf dish that manages to turn up the flavor.
