No, the Crescent Ballroom won’t be open this evening. Ditto for the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Club Red in Mesa, Maya in Scottsdale, or dozens of other bars, clubs, music venues, or drinkeries in the Valley that will be (understandably) taking the day off for Thanksgiving.

With that said, there are plenty of other places to score a drink or listen to tunes around town that will be open for business and serving up adult beverages to those who’d like to escape the family drama, have an after-dinner drink, watch some football, or just let loose. That includes any of the following 16 spots in Metro Phoenix.

Bar Smith
Score specials like 50-cent AMFs, well drinks, and Coronas up until midnight or go all out with $100 bottle service specials at Bar Smith on Thursday night during its "Work that Turk" party. Hours are 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Call 602-456-1991.

Bikini Lounge

One of the Bikini’s many claims to fame is the fact it’s pretty much open 365 days a year. Such will be the case on Thanksgiving as the landmark Grand Avenue dive will offer up cheap drinks and cheap thrills aplenty. Hours are 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Call 602-252-0472.

Bobby Q’s
The Q-Lounge inside this North Phoenix barbecue spot will host the Thanksgiving night edition of All-Star Thursdays with $3 you-call-its before 11 p.m., $4 Red Stripes, $5 Ciroc and Hennessey until midnight, and other specials. Four different DJs will spin hip-hop and reggae all night. 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Cover varies. Call 602-995-5985.

Casey Moore’s

Although many ASU students have fled the Valley for the holiday weekend (along with anyone else who needed to get away) we’re willing to bet that Casey’s will be crawling with Sun Devils and neighborhood folk when it opens at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Call 480-968-9935.

The District

Fans of both the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers will gather at this Scottsdale spot during their big matchup on Thanksgiving night to cheer on their respective teams while having a round or three. Doors are at 6 p.m. Call 480-664-0356.

The Rebel Lounge

You might just need a round or two of liquid courage before you get up the gumption to start stomping around the Rebel Lounge when the combo of DJ Tristan, DJ Aeternum, and DJ Blixa Bardot spin goth, darkwave, death rock, and other gloomy sounds during The Undead Can Dance. Hours are from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. There’s a $5 cover. Call 602-296-7013.
