Ten years ago, writer Tom Reardon had a front-row seat to see the punch heard 'round the punk world. Reardon was playing bass for Phoenix punk act North Side Kings, which was in Tuba City, Arizona, to open for Danzig, the metal band fronted by former Misfits singer and punk icon Glenn Danzig. After Danzig pulled numerous rock star moves that ultimately left North Side Kings a long way from home with no place to perform, NSK singer Danny Marianino confronted the diminutive but muscle-bound dark lord of rock. Push came to shove, and Danzig wound up on the ground as someone filmed the proceedings. It didn't take long for the video to go viral on YouTube and Marianino to achieve a certain level of infamy.
