Lately, I've gained a tremendous appreciation for nature. I've been consistently hitting Phoenix hiking trails for almost four years now and I'm officially smitten with the cacti, desert flowers and dramatic rock formations this area has to offer. I love it so much, I even feel affection for dirt.
My fellow desert nature lovers, Audobon Arizona, is bringing us "Gifts From Nature", an annual holiday party and craft sale this weekend.
Over 30 AZ artists will be selling their nature-inspired creations at the historic Cattle Track Arts Compound. You'll see jewelry, ceramics, painting and outdoor sculpture.
It's a two-day celebration that kicks off this Friday, December 11th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25 and include warm, booze-y drinks and hors d'ouevres.
Saturday is free (but you can always donate a few bucks) and the sale runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Live music is provided by Latin soul violinist Quetzal Guerrero and the children's book author, Barbara Gowan will be on-hand for a book signing.
All sales and donations support AZ environmental education and conservation. Of course, this is a cause close to my heart...I don't want my trails to go away.
Call 602-468-6470, x103 to make reservations for Friday night. Cattle Track Arts Compound is located at 6105 North Cattle Track Road in Scottsdale.
