The Bragg's Pie Factory Building, on Grand Ave, wants your trash. Of course, you have to make it into something first. And I trust that you local artists will do a spectacular job. I mean, you have an endless bounty of free materials to work with.

Although I do ask that you don't use any trash that can rot or cook in the heat. There's nothing worse than that sickly, sweet smell of hot garbage.

Anyway, all entries must be made from trash or recycled material. And the dumpster diving should start soon because the deadline for entries is September 24th. Each piece needs to be ready to hang, stand, or dangle from the rafters by then. Bragg's Pie is even allowing works to be attached to the parking lot fence or hung from the trees outside the building.

It's your choice if you want to put your piece up for sale or not. Entry fee is just ten bucks. Seventy percent of the price goes to the artist with the remainder benefiting the Grand Avenue Merchant's Association.

The exhibition will be a part of the Grand Avenue Festival, slated for Saturday, September 26th, which will celebrate the history of the area. Interesting historic commercial sites, adaptive re-use projects, neighborhood sustainability and the diverse small business community along the strip will all be showing off their goods for the day.
