In a year full of tragic celebrity deaths, the sudden passing of Chester Bennington over the summer came as an awful surprise.

The Linkin Park frontman died 41 (just a couple of months after Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell). It rattled the music world — and hit the Phoenix music community especially hard.

Bennington grew up and went to school in the Valley. And he was more than just a “local boy done good." He still had many friends, old bandmates, and connections in Arizona.

Well-known for his generosity and ability to connect with his fans, the musician was mourned by many. Some local fans had a chance to express their grief during a memorial held at Tempe's Club Tattoo on July 30.

For fans and friends still looking for a chance to pay tribute to the man's music and life, another opportunity to salute Chester will happen on Friday, October 27.

That's when the five surviving members of Linkin Park will celebrating the life and work of their late bandmate, with help from some special guests.

The Linkin Park & Friends concert will be the first time the band has performed together since Bennington's death on July 20.

Among the artists scheduled to participate in the concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles are Jonathan Davis from Korn and Zedd, as well as members of No Doubt, Blink-182, System Of A Down, Machine Gun Kelly, Kiiara, Yellowcard, and Avenged Sevenfold.

While the one-night-only show has sold out, fans across the country will get to watch it via free livestream on Youtube.

The stream will begin at 7:45 p.m. Pacific time on Linkin Park's YouTube channel. Donations will be accepted for The One More Light Fund, a charity to help at-risk individuals and communities that Linkin Park set up in honor of Bennington.
