This gig is part first show, part reunion show, part last show, part just another show, and part awesome show.
Nothing grabs attention like a Commie red backdrop complete with machine-gun equipped soldier and Chinese restaurant font. That's what this week's flier of the week looks like for the show featuring Sister Cities, Page the Village Idiot, Future Loves Past and Quick Henry.
The all-ages (until 10 p.m.), no cover charge show goes off this Saturday, July 23, at Long Wong's in Tempe at 8:30 p.m.
Last week I was told the local band I need to hear is Sister Cities. They were described to me as Joy Division in their prime. Sounds good to me but I'm going to wait for the show before I pass final judgement. Until then take a gander at their music video for "White Dress." -- Anthony Sandoval
