For the first time in nearly two decades, Garth Brooks is playing a concert in Phoenix.

The singer's triumphant return to town will take place at US Airways Center (which by the time of the concert will be known as Talking Stick Resort Arena) on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24. Tickets are $75 and will go on sale Friday, September 11, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.

Brooks is the best-selling country artist of all time. He's sold almost 70 million records since 1991, which means he can basically do whatever he wants, musically. That included an ill-fated turn with a dyed-black Australian alter ego Chris Gaines in the late '90s, But nevertheless the singer has a storied history, and amazingly, he hasn't played in town since the pre-Gaines days, when Brooks was the crossover country artist storming the airwaves with a vengeance.
