One might expect someone who demands they be addressed as "Ms." whatever-their-name-is might be a little narcissistic and perhaps have a bit of a superiority complex going on too. That seems to be the case with Ms. Lauryn Hill.

Reports are surfacing that Jay Gore, a former guitarist for Lauryn Hill, is suing Ms. Hill for $20,000 for harassment and unpaid wages. Gore claims he was not paid for the last leg of Hill's 2008 world tour. More importantly, Gore said that Hill unnecessarily verbally abused her backup band and road crew on what sounds like a somewhat regular basis.

"After shows, Hill would demand that the musicians and road support personnel attend meetings where she would engage in a person-by-person critique and berating," Gore said. "Hill made a statement in front of the tour personnel to the effect that 'I can't believe I am paying you fools. You should be paying me.'"

Unpaid wages can't really be predicted of any artist whether or not they are generally disliked because unfortunately it happens somewhat often. For example, Babyface sued Anita Baker when he allegedly did not receive payment for co-writing a song with her. Lars Ulrich of Metallica was sued by his personal assistant for years of allegedly unpaid overtime wages. David Kirkwood, a producer on Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III, claimed that Weezy owed him money as well for "production services."

This is a case of an artist taking things too far, though. Of course unpaid wages and harassment are two separate cases that have nothing to do with each other, but I hope Gore gets his $20,000. From the sound of the situation, Gore deserves every dollar he can get.

Here's Lauryn diva-ing it up on Jimmy Fallon. This jam still rules so hard.
