Lesbian clubgoers of the Valley who mourned the loss of the Vibe on Indian School and the old E-Lounge over on Seventh Avenue have reason to celebrate: Newly opened Club Sutra made its debut a few weeks back and is providing another nightspot for the local Sapphic set.

Located in the tiny Thomas Road location that was formerly the home of Club Incognito, Sutra (which celebrates its official grand opening on Friday) offers a mix of high-style digs and hip-hop and house soundtrack courtesy of female deckmasters like DJ Sweat and DJ Éclair. (There are also go-go dances and live music nights in the works.)

It's the brainchild of Audrey Corley (founder of lesbian dance night Boycott) and Lynn Gerber, the one-time proprietor of Incognito.

Club Sutra's Twitter account has been pimping the place plenty since its soft opening in August, promising "crazy drink specials" and "no cover nights," as well as the dawning of "A NEW ERA in the community." Whether or not this will actually comes to pass remains to be seen, but -- at the very least -- local lesbians who've grown bored with zGirl Club and Cash Inn Country now have another after-dark option to choose from.
