Do you party?

If the answer is yes, then you might want to make your way down to the Foundry on First tomorrow night where rapper Machine Gun Kelly is set to rage it up. As if the lanky kid from Cleveland wouldn't generate enough energy to blow the roof off of the newly minted venue (I can still call it new right?), the powers that be have also enlisted local artists, Cut Throat Logic, MATHMADiX, The New F-O's, and more to lend a hand in creating some serious ruckus.

Up on the Sun caught up with J-Beam of the Phoenix-based MATHMADiX to find out what's new and catch a glimpse of what you can expect from their set.

Up on the Sun: Drop Out Project released earlier this year, what have you guys been up to since then? What's new with MATHMADiX? J-Beam: Really the Drop Out Project wasn't intended on being an album, it was just a representation of what we sound like live when we mash up our songs with industry tracks. We just decided to release it for free to keep our buzz going. It's available for free at MATHMADiX.com

You guys are opening for Machine Gun Kelly this Saturday. If this is someone's first MATHMADiX show, what can they expect from your set?

You can expect a mixture of heavy 808 driven upbeat hip-hop tracks with a musical rock twist. We have a lot of different types of songs we perform depending on the type of crowd we're expecting. Being that it's Machine Gun Kelly, we're prepared for chaos. The band is gonna be in full effect and you can also always expect a big crowd of local MATHMADiX supporters when we perform in the Valley.

There's a costume contest going on that night too. You guys planning on getting in the spirit and dressing up as well?

It's Halloween so it just might happen... There's been some pretty funny ideas tossed around the last few days.

What do we have to look forward to from you guys in the near future?

We have two full-length records coming out under MATHMADiX Entertainment this year. Ripacut's Live With Rip-a-cut and a J-Beam and Knawledg LP, In A Class Of Our Own. We are getting set to debut the first single/video here very soon as well. We are all working non-stop on new material and new ways to independently market our music and book shows. This is gonna be the most active year in the history of our group. Shouts out to the New Times, MPR Ent, all our fans and everyone that's gonna come party with us this Saturday at Foundry.

It all goes down Saturday, October 29. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are going for $20. It's an all ages event and there will be a best costume contest, so start putting some mileage on those bad boys and bust them out early.
