A male patron of Scottsdale's Martini Ranch is in critical condition with life-threatening wounds following a stabbing at the Old Town dance club and music venue early this morning.
According to a report released by the Scottsdale Police Department, the 34-year-old victim was walking down the stairs on his way out of the club during the hour before last call when he was accosted by an unknown attacker and stabbed from behind multiple times.
Officers from the Scottsdale PD responded to the situation at 1:50 a.m. this morning. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to an area hospital. There's been no word released in regard to what led to the stabbing.
Scottsdale cops are currently seeking a suspect in connection with the case and describe him as an African-American male, approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall with a thin build who was last seen wearing jeans, red shoes, a dark shirt and a red and black baseball cap. Anyone who has information regarding the suspect or stabbing is asked to call the department with tips at 480-312-5000.
This is the second stabbing that has occurred at Martini Ranch this year. In late January, 27-year-old former ASU football player Tyrice Thompson (who worked at the club as a bouncer and security guard) was stabbed to death after an altercation stemming from 86'ing a few patrons from the property.
Tempe resident Ian MacDonald was arrested and charged with Thompson's murder and is currently awaiting trial.
