When you put your key in the ignition and turn on the radio, what station would play right now? KJZZ -- local public radio, but I usually switch it to podcasts since it helps me to not look at my phone while driving. I love WTF, Comedy Bang Bang, and Savage Love.
What's the first album you bought? Kris Kross, Totally Krossed Out was the first cd I bought myself. I saw them perform "Jump" on In Living Color and had to buy the album.
What's the first concert you saw? Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill tour. Seriously.
What's your favorite concert you've ever been to? Radiohead's Kid A tour or Andrew W.K. in 2002. I think I saw A.W.K. buying drugs in an alley near the Nile before the show.
What's the last song played on your music player? Sbtrkt, "Pharoahs," or "Burpee Workout" on YouTube, depending on how you measure it.
Preferred format: CD, vinyl, cassette, 8-Track or digital? Digital. Then my vinyl collection, since it adds credibility.
What's your favorite album? Radiohead, OK Computer.
Who is your favorite singer or band? While Morrissey has a strong stance on abstinence, I have to say Radiohead. But I'm mild about some newer stuff.
Does you computer track how many times you've played something -- if so, what's at the top of the list? Since 2008, Dntel's "Your Hill" or "Rock My Boat." Dntel is great. Blips and squirks, melancholy melodies and chill instrumentation, great dynamics, affected drums, dope beats.
What was your favorite new or new-to-you album from the past year? St. Vincent, Strange Mercy. So weird. I believe aliens observed the most beautiful people on the planet and then created Annie Clark, so as to provide recon on our culture.
What one song would you play if you had a world-wide radio audience? I really dig RAC's remix of John Legend's "Everybody Knows." Sad kid lyrics, upbeat backing track without betraying the melancholy.
Who is your favorite local artist? Bands that still exist? Black Carl, Ladylike. Time machine bands? Princess Ladyfriend and Batter the Drag.
What is your favorite local venue to see music? Trunk Space since it's next to Bikini Lounge.
What is your favorite music video? Unkle, "Rabbit in your Headlights."
