Vivian Girls' "Take It as It Comes" and Other Great Indie Girl Group Videos of 2011 (So Far)

Despite what Pitchfork says, Vivian Girls' Share the Joy didn't suck. Sure, it wasn't as impressive as their 2008 self-titled debut, but it was on par, if not better than Everything Goes Worst. Despite what Pitchfork says, Vivian Girls' Share the Joy didn't suck. Sure, it wasn't as impressive as their 2008 self-titled debut, but it was on par, if not better than Everything Goes Worst.

But anyhow, the ladies channeled their inner retro schoolgirl for a quirky video for the up-tempo ditty about cheating boys and heartbreak, "Take It as It Comes."

In it, Vivian Girls bassist "Kickball" Katy Goodman calls guitarist/lead singer Cassie Ramone for advice about Johnny, her boyfriend, who's not picking up the phone. Drummer Fiona Campbell's in the video too, mainly eavesdropping on the phone call and distracting Ramone with a stuffed bear.

Eventually, Campbell and Ramone team up to save Goodman from either (a) murdering Johnny for cheating, or (b) emotionally breaking down and making a fool of herself.

Check out the video after the jump, as well some of our favorite girl-group videos of 2011 so far.

Vivian Girls - "Take it as it Comes"

Bleached - "Dazed"

We're totally excited for the future of Bleached. This sister team has been praised by every relevant indie act in the Twitterverse -- Hunx & His Punx, Best Coast, Vivian Girls, etc. Be on the lookout for an LP.

Those Darlins - "Be Your Bro"

We've loved Those Darlins since we illegally downloaded a SXSW torrent off the Internet and heard "Red Light Love" a few years back. Their latest album, Screws Get Loose, is one our most played iTunes records of the year.

Cults - "Go Outside"

Go Outside, by Cults from Boing Boing on Vimeo.

If joining a real cult is as gnarly as Cult's album, we're totally buying some Nikes and chugging poison.

Dum Dum Girls - "He Gets Me High"

We <3 Dum Dum Girls, and the video for "He Gets Me High" reminds us Blind Melon's "No Rain" video, which is a great song for getting high.
