With Josh Wilson (who was pinch running for veteran Russell Branyan) and Ryan Roberts on base, Johnson walloped a single up middle of the diamond to tie the score. Upton then provided a chopper over towards Braves second baseman Dan Uggla to bring home the winning run.
Arizona moves to 19-23 with last night's win, but still remain in the thick of things in the comparatively weak National League West. They've won four out of their last five and are only four games out of first place. They'll attempt to gain some ground later tonight at Chase Field during the second game of their short series with the Braves.
Josh Collmenter (2-0, .90 ERA) will take the mound while Jair Jurrjens handles the ball for Atlanta. First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. TV: Fox Sports Arizona. Radio: KTAR 620-AM. For tickets and more information, visit www.diamondbacks.com.
