The Tempe Police Department just announced that divers searching Tempe Town Lake have recovered a body. Whether the body is that of missing Tempe man Willie Jigba is unclear.
The Tempe Fire Department's Search and Rescue divers have been combing the lake since Wednesday after a search dog picked up the scent of what could be human remains under the surface of the lake.
Jigba was last seen leaving a party in the 600 block of East Weber Drive
in Tempe on January 15.
Jigba couldn't find a ride and left the party alone. His path home
took him directly past Tempe Town Lake, and he hasn't been heard from since.
Jigba
was supposed to start a new job the next day, but never showed up. His
family, Tempe police say, reported him missing that night.
Jigba's family says it's not like him to simply not show up for work.
Cops say there's no sign of foul play, and Jigba isn't a threat to
himself or others, but the fact that he didn't show up for work has them
worried.
Authorities have been actively searching for Jigba since he was
reported missing, but to no avail. He hasn't responded to phone calls or
messages left by family and authorities.
