A Surprise woman, who punched her 11-year-old son in the stomach in front of police -- all while telling the boy how she didn't want him anymore -- was sentenced in Maricopa County Superior Court this morning.

Christina Muniz, 29, was sentenced to three years probation and 30 days in jail (which she's already served) after pleading guilty to one count of child abuse.

Muniz has been dubbed in the blogosphere as the "worst mother ever," and for good reason.

The incident for which Muniz was arrested is pretty heartbreaking. It all started when the 11-year-old son called Surprise police to say his mother was packing up her stuff and moving to California. She told the boy she wasn't taking him or his 7-year-old sibling with her.

Cops showed up to do a welfare check on the children, and found Muniz yelling and screaming at them.

"Get the fuck away from me, I don't fucking want you around me, get the fuck out of here... You call the police, I don't want anything to do with you ever again," police say Muniz ranted.

She told the officers she didn't want the kids anymore and that they needed to do something with them.

The cops called Child Protective Services to take the kids. As the officers and Muniz waited for CPS to arrive, Muniz reportedly got shit faced on wine and passed out for about 45 minutes.

When she woke up, CPS was at her house and her kids were being taken away.

As the 11-year-old went to hug his mother before being taken by CPS, Muniz punched him in the stomach.

So, yeah...she got probation.

As painful as it is to quote Keanu Reeves, a line from the 1989 classic film Parenthood seems to apply: "you need a license to buy a dog, to drive a car - hell, you even need a license to catch a fish. But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a [parent]."
