America's self-proclaimed "number one pickup artist" will be in town later this month to teach classes to local losers-in-love, and he's claiming "15 dateless local men" have ponied-up $1,300 a piece to learn how to pick up chicks.
We're not entirely sure which is more astonishing: the fact that "pickup artist" is an actual occupation or that 15 people were dumb enough to drop 1,300 bucks to learn how to talk to women.

Adam Lyons, a self-proclaimed "former geek," will be in Scottsdale on July 16, through July 18, to hold a seminar that according to an email from his publicist, 15 men have already paid $1,300 to attend.
The publicist didn't respond to our request for a chat with this apparently legendary Lothario but gave us a little background that still makes us wonder why someone would pay more money than most people make in a week to watch him speak.
Here's what the publicist has to say about his "stud" of a boss:
"A former school geek who was voted by his classmates as 'least likely to get a girlfriend' when he was 15 has been officially ranked the Number 1 Pick UpArtist (PUA) in America!...Lyons was given the award at the official World Pick Up Summit in Hollywood, California at the end of last year. The summit is held every year and brings together the world's best dating coaches and pick up artists from across the globe. Adam even beat Mystery, the formerly ranked number one PUA, whose exploits were chronicled in the 2005 New York Times bestseller, The Game. At the peak of Adam's playboy lifestyle he was a renowned club promoter bringing 80-100 girls to clubs each week and having 14 simultaneous relationships with models, actresses and other beautiful women."
There you have it, fellas -- apparently it's that easy to go from dud to stud.
