Glendale Police are investigating an early-morning shooting that left a woman dead, and appealing to the public for help in identifying the woman and finding her assailant.
Details are sketchy at this point, but Glendale police officer Karen Gerardo has confirmed police began receiving 911 calls at 5:45 a.m. today, after a resident in the area came out of his home and saw the victim in the road. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a woman at the intersection of 73rd Avenue and Donald Drive.
"She had a gunshot wound to the upper body," Gerardo says. "She was alive when we found her, and we had her airlifted to a hospital, but she died of her injuries at the hospital."
Glendale police are checking surveillance videos of the area for clues.
