Officials at the Arizona Department of Corrections confirmed this morning that one of the two Arizona prison inmates, who escaped from a privately run prison near Kingman on July 30, has been captured.
Corrections officials announced this morning that Tracy Province, a convicted murderer, was arrested in northern Wyoming this morning, just 60 miles from Yellowstone National Park, where the escapees were believed to be hiding.
At the time he was arrested, authorities say Province had a handgun in his possession.
The other inmate, John McCluskey, serving time for the attempted murder of a cop, as well as his suspected accomplice -- and fiancee -- Casslyn Welch, are still on the loose.
Last week, corrections authorities announced they believed the two men were headed east. While Province was nabbed north of Arizona, it seems those authorities were correct.
On Saturday, investigators announced the three were possibly linked to a double murder in New Mexico. The victims in the murder, Linda and Gary Haas -- both 61 and from Tecumseh, Oklahoma -- were found burned to death in their camper in a remote section of eastern New Mexico.
The Haas' truck was found nearly 100 miles away in Albuquerque.
It's unclear what led investigators to believe the escapees committed the murder.
McCluskey and Welch are still on the loose doin' their best Bonny and Clyde impression. Their relationship is slightly less romantic, though: we hear from a few sources that the two lovebirds are (kissing) cousins.
