Early results in the Democratic primary put Felecia Rotellini well ahead of David Lujan for state Attorney General, while a former New Times reporter pulled in decent numbers for a political novice.

With early ballots and 10 percent of the votes recorded, Rotellini was winning with 47 percent of votes to 38 percent for Lujan.

John Dougherty, former New Times staff writer, is coming in third in a race with three other Democrats for the right to challenge Senator John McCain. He's got 23 percent of the vote, compared to 32 for Ronald Glassman and 31 for Cathy Eden. Activist lawyer Randy Parraz is trailing that race with 12 percent of votes.

The race among three Democrats for state Corporation Commission is too close to call right now. Renz Jennings, a former commissioner, has a slight lead over Jorge Garcia and David Bradley. Two of the three will go on to the general.
