A massive project is planned for 230 acres of desert near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. Phoenix-based Kitchell Development Company proposes to build offices, shops, and hotels on the land, ultimately stretching the Gateway 202 Airpark to 3.3 million square feet. Chandler man Santana Batiz-Aceves, who is accused of raping as many as five girls between the ages of 12 and 14, is due in court today for a pre-trial conference. If convicted at trial, Batiz-Aceves could face more than 250 years in prison...A bear in Wisconsin stunned grocery shoppers when it walked into the store through the automatic front doors and climbed into the beer cooler. Wildlife officials tranquilized the bear and removed it from the store. Store workers say the bear "seemed happy" and didn't drink any beer.
